What places are truly worth the visit? What places are most impressive?

I have a list that's too basic and bland:

-Italy - Colosseum, Leaning Tower

-United Kingdom - Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Parliament Building

-Greece - Acropolis

-France - Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Versailles

-Spain - Alhambra

-Russia - Kremlin/Red Square

-Denmark - Little Mermaid Statue

Germany - Neuschwanstein Castle, Aachen Cathedral

-Turkey - Hagia Sophia, Ephesus

-Romania - Bran Castle

Ireland - Blarney Castle

-Vatican City - Saint Peter's Basilica

That's a pretty sad list, so I'm hoping you will be able to give me some good sites in Europe to add! Don't limit yourself to the countries I've listed. ANYWHERE in Europe is good!

    Switzerland - the Alps!

France - add the Louvre, Palais des Papes (Avignon)

Italy - and Venitian waterways, Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio in Florence
