I have checked travel recommendation websites but looking to the Yahoo! community for your first-hand suggestions on nice, clean, possibly swanky hotels nearby to restaurants, cafes, shopping, etc in the Jardins area of Sao Paulo. Or, if you have other suggestions for hotels less than $200 in other safe Sao Paulo neighborhoods with a similar profile, please share those ideas too. I will be travelling there in April.

  1. Try booking these good hotels at these sites.  You'll most likely get a much cheaper price:

    http://www.hotelscombined.com?a_aid=781b...

  2. Best buy for business: Blue Tree Towers Paulista. Rates start at US$119

Basic but good for business: Caesar Business Sao Paulo Paulista. Right on Avenida Paulista. Rates start at US$174

Basic, OK for business: The Golden Tulip Paulista Plaza Hotel. Technically in the Paraíso district but is very near the Avenida Paulista. Rates start at US$180.

For longer stays, all rooms are kitchenette suites, the Best Western Regent Park. Rates start at US$150

Many leisure travelers like the Zilah pousada, but I don’t know the rates.

Also see the BrazilMax Guide to São Paulo (link below). BrazilMax also has a discussion forum about São Paulo.

  3. The best hotel is hands down the Renaiscance.

Around the corner there is the TRANSAMERICA FLATS which is about 1/3 of the pric of the REN ... and pretty nice.

  4. Cheaper are the hotels from the Hollyday in chain (Formule1). They have some in the aerea where are u looking for.

There is Mercure (good one), Pathernon, Radisson ....
