Right now I'm hitting with Enduro Pro and stamina, but I'm looking to try something new. A lot of people have been recommending the Babolat hurricane strings, so I'm thinking that I'll try something with that. Most likely a hybrid, any ideas?

  1. natural gut is the best but very pricey.

  2. There are a lot of different kinds of strings you can get. In my opinion the best hybrid string setup is natural gut vs touch(babolat) in the mains and luxilon big banger alu power in the crosses. Also, if you dont like the luxilon then try Babolat pro hurricane tour.

    Good Luck

  3. To answer your question straight forward, natural gut strings are the best type of string. They put a lot of action and bite on the ball. But hybrids, I must say, the best one I've tried is Babolat's Pro Hurricane Tour 17 in the mains with Luxilon's Alu Rough in the crosses.

  4. ---Babolat Hurricane and Babolat Conquest (usually come in one hybrid for about $9) These are not the best, playability and spin are 5 out of 10 however it's durable.

---Babolat Pro Hurricane and Babolat Excel this hybrid is durable and have a little more feel and touch, much like Wilson Sensation.

---To answer your question, there are no best strings but rather only you will find the string that you feel comfortable with it.  For me, I like Synthetic gut because any other string will give me a tennis elbow. While my friends like Kelvar Polyester, and Natural Gut. While my customers like PSGD with Natural Gut hybrid, etc etc.

  5. There really isnt a best brand, they all have some good strings.  In my opinion Gamma is the best, but like you said some people like Babalot, or Wilson.

As far as string, Natural strings are the best.  They give you the most spin and power, but are really expensive.  I got Babalot's natural strings and like them a lot but they only lasted a week.  And for 35 dollars they're just not worth it.

  6. Natural Gut is the best.  No doubt about it.  I would definitely string it with a poly like the Hurricane Tour, Luxilon Big Banger or Signum Poly Plasma.  If you are a string breaker, put the Natural Gut in the crosses.  I would try them in the mains first though, to see how long they'll last you. I use them in the mains, with Poly Plasma in the crosses, and they last me about 2-3 months (playing 5-6 times a week).  I think the poly helps the Natural Gut last a little longer by not sawing into them (like if you had a full gut job).  Synthetic gut tries to imitate Natural Gut, but can never feel the same.  Synthetic gut loses its feel after a couple weeks, and "dies".  Natural gut feels like a part of your arm, and feel great for the lifetime of the strings.  Good luck with your string!

  7. i play with gamma livewire and absolutely love them.  i play competitively and practice every day.  i hit the ball hard...and they've been lasting pretty long.  around a month, two weeks better than my others!  my friend plays with the hurricanes and livewire and he likes them too.

also, my coach suggested to string with neon yellow strings.  your opponent can't see the ball on the strings, so you can disguise some spin.
