We have used cheap ones and they tend to jump on playback. Also difficulty in formatting on the D.V.D. player. We have used recordable and non-recordable.

  1. Verbatim are one of the best

  2. Buy DVDs from a well-known reputable brand and you should be OK.

Cheapy cheap ones are built down to a minimum price otherwise there is no profit in it.

Just a thought - do these cheap discs work OK in other recorders. If so it could be that your recorder either has a fault or is just a bit choosey.

  3. Hi Lolo,

We tested a lot of DVDs for our computer business.

The very best most reliable for burning was Verbatim with Sony coming in a close second.

At the very bottom of the pack with the most failed burns and most errors was Memorex.

We are in the process of life testing and after three plus years in storage the only failure to read that we have had so far is a Memorex.
