What are the best movies to enjoy a HD flat TV?

Disney/Pixar has the market on that.  They're the first studio to make DVD transfers straight out of a computer and not from a film strip like most movies.  This signifigantly improves picture quality over film transfers.

I hate to say it, but George Lucas' box office "nightmare" Episode 3 was one of the first movies not to be shot on film.  He used digital cameras so the DVD is copied straight out of his computer, giving it a great picture (even if the story is painful to behold).

And if you're tired of all that DVD nonsense, get yourself a Blu-ray Disc player.  It doesn't matter what movie you play on that format.  Every title is recorded at almost TWICE the picture quality of HD broadcasts.

(as you might have guessed, Disney/Pixar Blu-ray Discs look better than most other Blu-ray Discs)

Whatever movie you would enjoy watching and that you have a player for. Although an upconverting DVD player connected via HDMI will make DVDs look better than a normal player.

Usually Action or Science Fiction movies have amazing visuals that will provide some pretty amazing eye candy.

Especially if you are using an HD DVD or Blu-Ray player you will be getting the most out of your HDTV.

Action, Horror, Animated

Something Visually stunning.  Comedy's are out, they are usually focused 100% on people.  Drama's might be ok due to really pretty settings and backgrounds.
