  1. If you are an indiot, use the corner of a brick wall.

If you are serious, make/buy yourself a Japanese Makiwara and use that.

It can go anywhere where you can either fix it to a wall, or attach it to a stump and stake it in the ground

  2. First off, back in the day Thai fighters kicked banana trees (because they are soft).

Any modern Thai fighter is kicking heavy bags and banana bags. Watch videos of guys like Buakaw Por. Pramuk training, you see them hitting bags, focus mits, thai pads and kick sheilds. That should tell you that in light of modern equipment, they find kicking bags to be much more effective in conditioning their shins. You still get microfractures from the impact which heal and cause denser bones.

The best objects are the same objects that pretty much every pro fighter for the last 20 years has been using. Heavy bags.

Makiwara's are fine and all, but hand conditioning isn't nearly as needed, and you get the same sort of conditioning with less risk for injury and long term problems with arthritis by properly wrapping up and hitting a heavy bag, working on focus or thai pads.

Of course there are going to be people on here with all kinds of crazy ideas. But in reality, ask yourself who probably has a better idea of what type of body conditioning is needed for fighting.

A hobbyist or a Professional Fighter?

Do what the pros do, and you will be just fine.

  3. Its called hard body training. You condition your arms and legs that your bones break a little and are restored stronger with Calcium.

A few ways to train with a partner would be to stand facing each other and start off slowly and block your arms into each other making contact, after a minute or 2 this should start causing a little pain and discomfort. This will work for your forearms, inner and outer. For conditioning your hands, you may want to start doing press ups on your knuckles, moving onto your fingertips. Also punching the tree helps too. As for strengthening your shins you could try and kick your partners shins, this should be done really lightly to start off with and once you have madeimprovementt, then startgo inn a little harder. Remember this is alsopractisingg and should b done with the correct form and technique.

    Hope this helps

  4. Do you want to break them or strengthen them? To strengthen then then go kick a tree. If you want to break them you'll probably need a partner.

  5. A lot of nonsense among these answers, and one piece of very sound advice: get a heavy bag.

Only stupid foreigners kick banana trees nowadays, and they don't do it for long either...

Muay Thai fighters focus on the heavy bag and pads, and that is all the conditioning they need.

That, and of course sparring (with shin guards) and competing.
