Tocqueville on 15th Street (between 5th Avenue and Union Square) The restaurant is beautiful and the food is amazing.

For a steak that tastes like butter, go to the one and only Peter Luger steakhouse. There are only two of them, the original one is in the Bronx. You do need a reservation, and bring cash, because they do not accept anything other than cash. It's about $35-$40 per person.
