I will be in Rome for a week and have a lot of friends/family to buy gifts for. What are the most typical and interesting Italian souvenirs? Preferably not a liquid due to the airline policies.... Thanks!

  1. I to had to buy for friends and family and honestly I found the most interesting gifts when I walked off the beaten path and stopped worrying about what to buy. Also, chose items that they would not pick for themselves.

If you can use the subway it was the easiest and most cost effective to see the city and goes everywnere. Enjoy your trip.

  2. me! a Italian man ... a husband!

  3. roman husbands for your single lady relatives. but let your single girlfriends go get their own. i love the roman accent. ciao

  4. They have lots of cheap little "sculptures" of their famous landmarks, which are kind of neat.  I brought home a couple of Coliseums and some Mouth of Truths, and a Trevi Fountain.  There's some painters who hang around the top of the Spanish Steps that have some neat stuff.

  5. The $5 shirts they sell around the Coliseum.  That is all I brought back.. and 18 rolls of film.

How come when people go away on vacation they have to bring things back for everyone else? I never bring anything back for anyone, and I sure don't expect people to bring stuff back for me.
