What are the best paying careers for an Associate degree?

Since I have found many consistent answers to this question from various web sites on a google search, I now ask this question for those of you with personal experience in this aspect. I want to see if there is a correlation of your personal-based experiences to the web sites' answers as to what careers/jobs offer the highest pay/lowest degree ratio to validate the deviation. It just seems to good to be true that one, fresh out od a 2 year program in college, can jump onto a $60,000+ a year job with absolutely no prior work experience!!!

Thanks all in advance!

  1. Radiation therapists make 60k.

    Engineering technicans make 40k.

    Nurses make 40k.

  2. Anything computer related would do you well, but it will be pretty hard to find a 60k plus a year job on a 2 year degree - more like 30 - 40 for starters with no experience.  A computer information systems degree would open many doors for advancement though.

  3. accounting

  4. Yes, it is too good to be true.  LAN Administration right of out school with an AAS/AA would start at $30-40K depending on grades, work experience and where the job is.

EE's out of school, don't start at $60K.  Unless in the DC/Alexandria area where the cost of living is extremely high.
