What are the best pickups for metal?

Question

I have an Ibanez RGR 421 EXFM. I just want some killer pickups to make a great sound, favoring low to mid range, but still good on high.

imo, I like Seymour Duncan pickups. I have 3 main guitars, and have SD invaders at the bridge in two, and a SD Hot Rails at the bridge in the other. (didn't want to rout out the pick guard ) and they sound pretty good, lots of output and the Invaders are completely evil. Di Marzio also makes some pretty badass models as well as Lawrence. but those are all passive pickups., If you want an active setup, EMG, and SD make nice systems.
