What are the best picture settings for the HP ID5220 DLP TV? My picture is either washed out or too dark.

Too dark, means brightness is too low.

Washed out, means brightness is too high,

Start with the defaults!

See if you have a DVD with the THX optimizer logo on the back. It includes a simple TV calibrartion menu.

Do you have a Disney/Pixar animated video around?  Use the THX Optimizer to set up your TV under the exact surrounding light/viewing conditions.
