  1. Lures like hot n tots or plastic worms or flys are good bass lures. Bass like to be around trees in the water or rocks.

  2. I have caught more bass from a canoe than from anything else.  You can be quieter in a canoe.  30-60 ft. out is plenty.  My biggest two bass ( 8 and 10 lbs.) were caught on a firetiger spinnerbait my daughter gave me for fathers day one year.  The blades are painted orange and chartreuse.  Very ugly lure, but just before dark, those large bass  try to kill it.  Both were caught near old rotten docks with a few logs just under water nearby

  3. neer the cat tails with an artificial worm

  4. I like fishing from about 25-40 feet or more away..with plastic worms w/out sinkers and let them sink and twitch them every now and then....also I'd be like using spoons too along with an occassional top water lure.

Fishing coves and places with a lot of cover, the deep side of lily pads or along drop offs - you should be able to see them.  I tend to fish straight on when I'm far away then as I get closer I fish to the left & right...looking for possible spots in the weeds or cover where they can be hiding...
