  1. Years ago, Panagra airlines offered a package called "Golden circle of Latin America" (Circulo de oro de Panagra) They offered what experts called the best of South America. It all started in Peru (Lima and Cuzco), then they went to Chile (Santiago, Valpararaiso, Puerto Montt) then crossed the lakes into Bariloche, then fly to Buenos Aires, go to Montevideo (and Punta del Este), go to Iguazu falls, and stop in Rio de Janeiro.

Although Panagra and Panam do not exist anymore, the golden circle of South America is still well known in travel agencies.

I have been to Bolivia (Santa Cruz and La Paz) but I would rather stick to Peru, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brasil.

  2. you must visit Buenos Aires, Argentina, or any other place in argentina. But if you decide to visit Buenos Aires, it's like being in Paris but a looooooooooot cheaper

  3. There is nothing like the magnitude of Brazil. From the Amazon Jungle, where you can stay i n 5 + hotel over the trees, to the amazing sightseeing of the Pantanal área, and Iguaçu Falls. Finish your trip in the wonderfull Rio de Janeiro.

  4. I agree, Buenos Aires is a must see.

    Awesome food, awesome shopping.

You should also consider going to Punta del Este in Uruguay, it is a short flight from Buenos Aires, and it is a spectacular beach ressort.  Go there between November and March so you can go to the beach.
