  1. Frankfurt gets a rap for not being very great for tourists, but there really are a lot of interesting things to do and see there.   I'm afraid that I can't help with nightclubs, but here are some ideas.

Frankfurt is a modern city with modern skyscrapers.  Go up on one of them.  The Main Tower is a good one, with good views of the city on a nice day.  Main is like the name of the River, not main as in English.

The Romerberg, the old town of Frnakfurt, with half-timbered houses galore and probably a place you can find a beer or glass of wine in the evening.  they have a Christmas Markt in the square in November, and I am sure other celebrations throughout the year - Germans love to have festivals!.

Nearby, if you like old Chruches is the Kaiserdom - or King's Cathedral.

Paulskirche is more interesting, if not as beautiful inside. This is the site of the meeting of the first parlamentary body in Germany, in 1843.  The democratic experiment didn't go particularly well, alas.

Stop by the Börse, the stock market.  Check out the huge sculpture of the Euro symbol.  At the nearby park find the statue of Schiller, one of Germany's great writers,

And speaking of great writers, if Germany's proud literary past intruigues you, visit the Goethe haus, the home that Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who is the other of those two great writers, grew up in.  It's interesting not only for the literary aspect but also as a period home from the 19th century.

I hope that gives you some ideas.

  2. Chongo's salsa club is pretty popular.  O-reilly's pub is usually happening on the weekends.  Also Check out www.frommers.com and see what they recommend.

  3. More in formations about Frankfurt/M. visit www.frankfurt.de. You can see the old opera house, palmengarten (botanic garden), down town Frankfurt, where you can shop and most the streets closed for traffic, Sachsenhausen is the south side from the main River, where you can find so many restaurants, bars and don't forget to drink the famous "Apfelwein". There is so many discos also. Have fun....

  4. There's a place in Frankfurt called "Sachsenhausen".  It's like a small town within Frankfurt.  No one can drive there, cobble stone streets, and lined with bars left and right.  It's the place to party.

I lived in Frankurt 20 years ago.  Things may have changed, but I really doubt it.  Europe doesn't do change quickly.

    Have fun.
