Spice Market. I've seen someone famous every single time i've eaten there. Depends on what crowd you're looking for. Johnny Utah's is good for a celeb sighting....unless you're planning to actually go in and eat ..... 2 words...mechanical bull. *ew*

Cafe Luxembourg 70th St. near Amsterdam Ave.

Not pretentious by NY standards but I have seen  Al Pacino twice, Tommy Lee (with 2 girls), Julianna Margulies and other celebs eating there.

Balthazar- Spring Street

Very pretentious for a bistro inho, but lots of celebs!
