  1. nike shox

  2. nike shox are NOT good.

because of the elevated heel, it is very easy to turn your ankle.  nike has some other very good running shoes.

personally i like puma, because they are super lightweight.  just make sure whatever you do get, it has a supportive arch.  that's where puma falls through.  if you find a shoe you like but it doesnt have the arch, buy a dr. schols insert for the shoes

  3. Go to new balance, they will measure your feet and seem to be very knowledgeable about their shoes and people feet

  4. Im a pro runner i run for my county.. andhope to be competing in london 2012.. i suggest using  something that is Addidas.. they are very comfortable and never cause foot strain

  5. The best shoes are a pair that are fitted for your foot type, arch type and running gait.

Get to a specialty running store for an analysis and purchase the shoes they recommend. Asking an internet community for advice on footwear is a bad idea. Shoes are the most important equipment you'll own with running and the wrong pair can easily force a painful injury.

  6. tennis shoes.

  7. In general I like 3 brands...

    New Balance, Asics, and Adidas...

What's best for beginners, is just really what feels most comfortable to you and provides the most heel support, as well as shock absorption....

Also, make sure they are tight fitting. The looser they are, the less support you have. Don't strangle your foot though, they still have to be comfortable.

You might also want to look into additional orthodics. Perhaps a better running shoe cushion.

Remember a professional running shoe basically means, they have a custom orthodic in there... Which costs about 200-500. They use the same exact shoes as everyone else (maybe the highest one), but in the end its the same. Just with a custom inside.

In the end, I would go to what ever sneaker place you goto and spend some time trying on different shoes, and walking around in them, seeing which is the best for you.

  8. oasics

  9. If you live in the San Jose - Santa Clara area in California I suggest you visit "Ryan's Sportshop" near Santa Clara University. If not, look for a running specialty shop in your area.

The employees in specialty shops will help you find your perfect fit. Brand doesn't matter as much, it all depends on your feet. (I prefer Brooks, Acsis, and Mizunos)

If you have flat feet, or in need of arch support I suggest using "Superfeet" insoles.

According to my coach, "Don't buy trainers from any sports store, they don't know what they're talking about."

True, since they have no experience or received training.

    Tip: Comfort over cuteness

Who the F*** rated my answer "thumbs down?"

My answer is basically similar to the ones below mine.

  10. Personally, I love my Asics. However, it can really depend on your feet. If you can, go to a store that customizes in running. Some will have treadmills or other instruments that measure how you run, and then they can suggest the best shoes for you.
