What are the best selling/most popular pet birds?

out of the finches (what type?)and canaries and budgies (not interested in large parrot type birds),thanks.:)

I would say a Conure.

Zebra Finches are the most popular Finch you'll get. Budgie Parakeets are very popular too.

I have two adult Zebra Finches and two chicks--well they're not quite chicks any more.

If you are looking for an unpopular finch, (just to be special) You can try to find a Strawberry Finch somewhere. It'll probably be hard to find though.

the best bird for beginners is a budgie after that people usually get cockateils of lovebirds

Budgies, lovebirds, cocktails, parroletts, are fun, small, good starter birds. Hope that helps!

Depends on what you want from your pet bird. If you want one that just sings and sounds pretty and you don't want to handle it then go for the finches. If you want some responsibility then go for the budgie.  Budgies need to be held everyday and special time spent on them if you want them to remain tame. If you want one on one time then only get one. If you want them to bond together then get two but make sure not to get a male and a female or you will have babies and that is not for a beginner!
