What are the best shoes for cross country racing?

I am new to cross country so I need a little guidance in what type of shoes to get....

it depends on how you run

where i live (Houston, TX) there are two shoe stores "finish strong" and "Luke's locker" they will see how you walk and give you shoes good for you

i like the saucony kilkenny xc2 they are pretty comfortable

I'd recommend the Nike Kennedy XC. They are very lightweight  but the xc version has more support for the longer distances. You'll know them by the unique spike layout. They have four on the inside of the shoe and one spike on the outside.
