What are the best shoes for playing tennis?

Any sort of athletic shoes that are made for side-to-side movement.  Running shoes are not good for tennis because they were only designed for forward movement.  Go to your nearest athletic store and I'm sure they'll be able to help you out.

Try on a bunch of different brands to see what feels best. Nike seem to fit narrower feet well, adidas wider feet. There are shoes that provide a lot of support and others, not so much. Make sure they fit snugly and are designed for tennis -- allowing easy lateral movement.

im a huge fan of k-swiss...but not their "style" shoes (i guess you can call them that lol) ....like the mesh with the leather bottom because they will get destroyed on the court....but most kswiss shoes are great....like i said, just dont get their mesh/leather ones
