  1. Why are you running on concrete?  That's the worst thing you can do for your legs!

Edit: Perhaps you can run on the grass next to the concrete trail.  If the trail in the park is concrete it was created with bikes or walking in mind.  It's really hard on your legs to run on it.  (Oh, and running "off road" gives you a little bit more benefit to your running too!  It will burn a few extra calories and help with muscle building as well.)

  2. ive been running in new balance for over 2 years and they are just now starting to wear out so id say new balance there also very comfertable so thats always good there the best in my opinion for running

  3. cushioned shoe, like asics gel. depends on your foot, i hate asics, i love New Balence! Asics are good for high arches. *also check for local trails to run on, thats my fav. place. I hate running on the hot roads.

  4. Go get properly fitted for running shoes (and insoles) in a running specialty store. They are almost certain to recommend something other than the Shox Turbo.

If you're a neutral runner, you may want to look at things like the Nike Vomero line or the Asics Nimbus.

Your problem may be that you haven't been properly fitted for shoes in the first place, and your pain is coming from your current shoes, not the concrete.

You may also need to work on your running form. If you're pushing from your lower leg and forefoot too much, you're more likely to develop ankle pain than if you're using proper form (with relatively relaxed ankles throughout).
