I live in southeastern NH so I will be looking at smaller ski areas nearer to me. (I do want to avoid crowds as I am older and skiers zipping by me at high speeds make me very nervous.) How can you judge the quality of the ski instructors?

  1. great question here you will find all kinds of info for the north east take a look http://snowsportblog.blogspot.com/

  2. I suggest Okemo I have been skiing there for about 3 years it is very nice they have many beginner areas. And the weather is mostly nice. We just got 2 1/2 feet of snow there is powder everywhere. The mountain was made to make every skier happy. You will defiantly find a great run that you Will like.

The prices are very cheap too. You can also go skiing for I hour for free every day.

    Hope This Helps :)

  3. Smaller or more-out-of-the-way places are usually better as there will be less people crowding up the learn-to-ski areas and the beginner trails.

Bromley and Pico have both excellent instructors and nice beginner areas. Okemo has an excellent ski school, but I think the beginner area is too crowded if you are going to take lessons on the weekends.
