  2. First off, if you're going to ski in March, make sure you ski after Easter & after all the college spring breaks are through since these weeks are the most expensive other than Christmas & Easter. Another thing to remember is that when you're try to go skiing is late in the ski area & sometimes certain resorts are beginning to close & have limited skiing due to the weather {warmer climate-melting snow, less snow fall & their snow base (inches/feet) is shrinking}. Therefore, the best ski areas are the ones farther north. I would recommmend Jackson Hole, WY, Sun Valley, ID, Steamboat Springs, Vail & Winter Park, CO or even the Park City area of UT such as Alta, Snowbird & Park City. All these areas are the largest & have the highest elevation. You might try checking your RT airfare since & listed all these because I don't know where you live. One I know for sure that will be fully open in late March is the Loveland Ski area in Colorado. It's a little over an hr. west of Denver by car it has the highest elevation in the Rockies. They open in October & sometimes close as late as May. It's colder later in the yr. so it stays open longer. It's not quite as large as these other areas but's I think it's good enough for you. The vertical is over 2,400 feet & it's an easy drive. They have record snowfalls this yr. so you should be safe in late March but check all these websites & they'll give you info. on how late they'll be open for the season & how much of a base they have & how many of they're runs & lifts are open. Good Luck!!!
