What are the best speakers around?

I'm knew to the whole speakers thing. What are the top of the range speakers and what would be an above average sub to get. What would be a good make to look into =)

jl audio w 7's are a very good sub,good bass ,and quality sound well worth the money.

I will agree with the last post Kicker is pretty hard to beat. Memphis and Rockford are also d**n good subs.

I don't know of any people that have them, but I recently purchased a power acoustik pw2 sub.  1200w peak, 500w rms.  Sounded great until i overheated my amp.  whoops!  By far the best sub i've had to this date and i've been through a few.  SQ sub, in my opinion best bang for its buck

I would go with kicker or jl audio. I personally prefer kicker!

Resonant Engineering has some great subs...I just bought a set of 12" they hold up to some monstrous pounds.I have a 2300 rms amp hooked to em...159.6 db on the meter with a custom made box tuned.
