What are the best stores to put donation boxes at?

I'm doing a fundraiser for a project to try to raise money for Darfur. The best and easiest way I could think of would be to send out donation boxes to stores around the community. What are the best type of stores to try to send them though? (Who would be most cooperative with letting me put them there, and where are people likely to donate?)

put big supermarkets where lots of people go , so  more donations are there .

Grocery stores and fast food restaurants typically make a lot of cash transactions. You want to put the collection box by the customer so he can read about Darfur while the cashier is putting the money in his hand. The impulse will then be for him to drop his change in your box.

Keep it simple. Plain fonts, black type on white paper, big enough for elderly people to read without squinting (12 pt or better) and maybe a color photo at the top if you have one. Do not assume that others know what you know. Answer these in your mind before you type your sign: Where or what is Darfur? What's going on that we should know about? What will my donation do to help solve the problem? Who's sponsoring the collection? Are you a 501(c)3? Don't forget the big "Thank you!" at the bottom.

Walmart, Target, local supermarkets, and don't forget your local church and library.  Just ask before you put anything anywhere, have an info sheet ready to answer questions, and make sure you have your organization noted clearly, because people can use their donations as tax deductions

Privately owned restaurants and corner stores are good places to try. Pizza places... Some places like IHOP do fundraiser nights, you have to ask for details.

Walmart Target and K Mart and grocery stores. You need to clear it with the managers first. You can also call all the local churches ion your area and talk to the pastors/priests/ministers.
