What are the best stretching exercies before walking/running?

I just started a walk/jog regimen and having some intense pain in my calves.. I have been stretching, but it's possible either I'm not doing the correct exercises or not stretching long enough.. can anyone advise me on some effective stretches that might help with the burning in my calves.. thanks

  1. Stand on the edge of stairs preferably concrete or any hard material and walk backwards so just ur toes and balls or your feet are on it and your heels are hanging off. you may need a wall to support you. and then using ur calf muscles lift yourself up and then bring urself down as far as you can till you feel the stretch in ur cavles
