  1. Turn the lights off when you leave the room, turn the water off while brushing your teeth, take a lunch to school or work, plan your trips to use less gas, plan your meals and eat dinner at home, watch a movie your already own, don't charge expenses and pay yourself first.

  2. I pay myself first out of my paycheck and put it directly into savings. I also use printable coupons from places like www.boodle.com

    www.smartsource.com

    www.redplum.com

    www.coolsavings.com

and shop the sales at the grocery store to save money.

I limit eating out unless I'm using an Entertainment book coupon. I have started eating healthier.

I limit shopping. I plan as many errands as I can together to save on gas.

I pay my bills online to avoid paying for stamps.

I use fans and open windows rather than using the air conditioner. I've lined my windows with tin foil to keep out the heat (it acts as a deflector for the heat, plus it darkens the room).

I wash my clothes in cold water.

I shut off the lights and power when not in use.

I limit expensive entertainment. Often there are free concerts and movies in the park where I live.  I go to the public library to rent free dvds and to www.redbox.com to get free movie codes to rent movies on Mondays and Wednesdays.

  3. Like the other guy said, turn out the lights, turn up the a/c, combine trips.  Cook your own food, instead of eating out.  Cancel your home phone and just use your cell (it's what I do), you can also cancel your cable and save 30 bucks a month using an antenna, I do this and get all the major networks.

I read somewhere that the best thing you can do is to get a note pad and track every dime you spend.  For example I used to by a coke a day @ $1.00.  that was 30-31 bucks a month.  a 24-pack only costs 5 bucks so that's a $25/month savings and $300 a year, it is all in the little things.

I also have a set budget, and use cash instead of a debt card, or at least when I do I spend less money.  I got 175 in cash and that was my money to eat on for the month, I went a little over but I spent double using a debit card, it is psychological.

Pay off a credit card, all is best, www.daveramsey.com, and that will give you extra cash.  Also, I have $25/month automatically transfered into savings, which allowed me to buy tires this week without a credit card.

These are things I do, hope it helps
