  1. go to the beaches.....

  2. this site has useful cruise information

    http://allcruiselines.info

  3. went horseback riding in Istapa last year on the Carnival jungle horseback adventure..it was great, part of the ride was up the beach..loved it..in Acapulco get a guide at the pier if you really want to see the city..10 of us got a guide for 15.00 each for the day he took us everywhere we wanted and even some places we didn't know about..Cabo is a shopping town or you could go para-sailing ..there is always the beaches but watch out for the time share scams. Acapulco was 98 the day we were there in Jan 2007 Istapa was about the same but the other ports were in the 80's

  4. Check out CruiseCritic.com, "Boards", "Ports of Call".  Lots of great info and you can post questions if you don't see what you need.

  5. We did that cruise itinerary a couple years ago but in the fall.  In Cabo we did a tour to one of the towns and a glass factory, It was OK but not recommended.  In Puerto Vallarta we did a tour that included a stop at a place where tequila is made and we had a lot of free samples. In Acapulco the best tour was the one to see the cliff divers and the  a tour of the city.  I think the cliff divers is the best tour of this cruise.

  6. shopping in cabo is more expensive than the other places. acapulco a must see is the cliff divers.

  7. I would suggest a couple of things that I did on that same cruise itinerary.

    1.  In Acapulco, be sure to see the cliff divers.  It is 100% tourist trap but still is facinating to see the divers leap off those cliffs into the water.  It is included on almost all of the guided tours.

    2.  In Ixtapa, your ship will actually dock in Zia(something).  Just take a water taxi to Playa Gatos and spend a relaxing day on the beach.  The beach chair rental is only a couple bucks and the beers are $1 and fantastic pina coladas served in a coconut for about $4.

Most of the things you will buy are just the souveniers which are cheap.  You will find groups of small children begging you to buy packages of gum or little crafts from them.  I have heard they are basically forced by "organizers" to do this selling and receive hardly anything for their work.  Hey, they are so cute, you will end up buying things for a dollar.  Your dollar means a lot to them and if we can afford a cruise, we can afford a few dollars for charity, too.

  8. Beaches, tequila, food, what else can I say.  If you are in Puerto Vallarta for a whole day, see if they are still giving the house tours.  You used to pay $50 per person, and tour houses of the rich and famous who have homes there.  The money goes to provide supplies for a medical team that donates their services.  They do cleft palate repairs.

    Check weathercast.com for averages.

You might want to get a Mexico tour book for more info. Check your library
