  1. What locals do for fun?

spend the day at coki point beach doing "absolutely" nothing.

go home, get fresh, head to, depending on what night it is;  Duffy's love shack, Latitude 18 or hang out at American yacht harbor.

If you want to go real local, go to the mango tree bar in the heart of smith bay. Talk to Ivan.he's the owner  and is cool as a fan. get involved in a game of dominoes, or pool. while under the influence of some gin and coconut water.

when you're done and hungry on your way out stop at Lakes fried chicken. Order a 2 piece w/ fries. don't hold back on the ketchup, and live a little, try the hot sauce..yes on your fries.. don't forget a mango juice to wash it all down.

    just a few ideas

regardless of what you do, use lots of common sense, and have lots of fun.

  3. One thing you have to do is go to the Mountain Top

Mountain Top is located at the highest point on St. Peter Mountain, it has beautiful views of Magens Bay and the north side of St Thomas.  There is also a small shopping area with the usual touristy stuff and some nice jewelery at o.k. prices.  You can also try a Banana Daiquiri made from the same recipe used for over 60 years.  The air temperature is at least 10 degrees lower than sea level.  Access for most is by car or taxi. Another "best thing" to do is take the ferry over to St John. The first time we ever when to the USVI we stayed on St Thomas and someone suggested we take the ferry to St John and rent a jeep.

We drove all over the island doing a self tour with just a car rental map. We had so much fun. You drive on the left. The speed limit is 20 miles per hour. Many switchbacks and turns but ahhh so beautiful. From Cruz Bay to Coral Bay it's only about 8 miles. We found a place called Shipwreck Landing, had a rum drink and conch fritters. We were hooked and we are now constantly plotted our way back to St John. St John is not as busy as St Thomas and also smaller in size. It's now our favorite island.

Two wonderful islands for the price of one.

    Enjoy)

  4. Go to the outdoor market where locals sell their goods in Charlotte Amalie.  There is also some great shopping there and in nearby Havensight.  Good bargains on liquor, watches and jewelry.  Whatever you do, DO NOT go clubbing at night.  Things get kind of dicey after dark on the island.
