Walk down the Samaria Gorge. Also head down to Plakias and chill out on the beaches.

what i find most enjoyable is simply relaxing and exploring... especially in a city like hania (aka chania), which offers a beautiful venetian harbor lined with cafes, restaurants, shops, ect.

parts off the harbor are very much geared towards tourists, but as you spend more time searching you'll find the genuine cretan lifestyle.

that happens to be my favorite city, but you are pretty much guaranteed a good time with beautiful beaches anywhere! not to mention being able to witness the unique (and older) way of life if you happen to be in the more mountainous, central region. its impossible to be disappointed in an island like this!
