Look for something with decent staying form and/or breeding.  Preferably, in my opinion, with bloodlines outside of Australia.

The Japanese can prove tough to beat if they turn up again, Pop Rock, Tosho Knight and Delta Blues.

An imported galloper, Blue Monday, has yet to race in Australia but is seemingly highly regarded by the stable and prepared by a trainer who regularly wins G1 races. Should be watched closely. Certainly has smart overseas form. Like his chances.

Third placed last year Maybe Better has been set for this and resumed with a smart run today. Likewise Zipping, an Australian runner is likely to be aimed specifically at the race.

Two longshot chances could be either Trick Of Light or Tubular Bells. TOL had a light autumn campaign, failing in her last start. Prior to that thought she had put together a number of wins in previous campaign rising in class quickly. Extremely lightly raced, still with untapped potential. TB has been out for sometime with injury problems. Prior to that he'd shown himself to be progressive stayer, putting together a number of wins prior to running 2nd in the Adel Cup. One thing's for sure he'll run the trip.
