  1. Read up on camera functions so that you know what you can do with your camera... Things like: ISO rating, shutter speeds, aperture, megapixels for digital cameras, different kinds of lenses...

  2. Always carry a camera. When you see a great picture, take it. The essential skill is not in the taking, but in the seeing. When you have learned how to do this, you will be able to take great pictures. 'Don't' tip: Don't listen to those people who tell you that you need a 'great' camera, whatever that may be.

  3. i would go to the library or the bookstore and start reading some basic photography books.  some have easy to follow tips.  Basically, you want to pay attention to lighting, composition, and find your own unique style.  it's much easier said than done.

  4. get a great camera.

  5. Having a decent camera.

Also being a good photographer is a natural talent.

A rubbish photographer cant take good photographs.

It just comes naturally. x Good Luck x

  6. I am a professional. The biggest tip is to take many, many pictures and delete the marginal ones. The very best photographers take 100 and delete 99 of them. That one great picture is worth more than the other 99 that are not that great.

Don't be shy about clicking the shutter, and this is especially true if you are using a digital camera... since you don't have the expense of developing all the marginal ones to see the results.

And don't worry about lighting conditions... since sometimes unusual light will add drama to the shot.

  7. Do take photography classes if possible

Do check out photos professionals have taken

    Do understand the shutter speeds/f-stop

    Do pay attention to lighting

Do find the best composition possible

Do understand iso and its effect on photos

Do shoot at the lowest iso possible

    Do experiment with different settings

Do bring your camera with you at all times (if possible)

Do understand photoshop and know how to operate it

Do check out reviews when buying a new camera

Do buy a sturdy tripod if you do indoor/low-light photography

Do buy a few extra batteries and memory cards in case your run out

Do shoot at higher shutter speed if the subject is moving

Don't buy the best camera if you don't know how to use it to its full potential.

Don't listen to electronic store employees when they're trying to recommend a product to you (do your research online!)

    Don't set everything to "auto"

    Don't photoshop everything

Don't get overwhelmed when your pictures don't turn out the way you expected

Don't shoot with backlighting or else everything would be underexposed( exemptions apply)

Don't delete every single 'bad' picture in your camera, go home and play with it a little with photoshop

Of course, the best tip for any hobby is always try your best and have fun =))
