  1. Best color and valuable fish, that will definantly be "Flowerhorn" south america cichlid. Every flowerhorn has a different color, it can be red, orange, yellow, blue, and dark. They are also active and male has a big hump on their forehead.

  2. What species of fish?  It depends.  When using the word cichlid, keep in mind, that says very little.  There are 1000's of species of cichlids from all over the world that grow to different sizes, temperments and need different water types too.  Secondary issue is size of tank as well.

Africans tend to do well with other Africans, HOWEVER, since you were asking about Tetra's and Danios in your other question, you usually can mix these if you have rock/substrate dwellers, called Mbuna.  Again though it would be best if you knew the exact species.  The only issue I think you might have is that most of these community types, the tetras, danio's etc... prefer softer lower ph waters, but they can possibly adapt to the higher hardness and PH that Africans thrive in.  I'd say for the most part, you can put the community types you asked in your other question, but I'd like to know what species you have before saying go for it.

Also, a Flowerhorn is a p**s poor choice, to be direct.  That's not even really a South American.  It's cross bred from South Americans, but a Flowerhorn is actually a hybrid.  Not only is it too mean tempered for the 55 and your Africans, it also prefers the lower softer water then your Africans thrive in.  Do not even consider a poor choice like that please.  That Flowerhorn would take over your tank and wipe out everyone else.
