i am looking at getting a new wedge set and buying a 52, 56, and 60. i am currently playing on a handicap of 8, but my current wedges (which came with my other irons) have become worn and are not producing as much spin. what are good wedges? brand? model? i was also wondering whether vokeys are worth it? some people seem to say they are really good... while others say they are over rated. thanks

  1. Titleist Vokey, or Cleveland's would have to be the two most popular wedges on the PGA Tour. Both manufacturers have developed special new grooves which enhance spin around the greens. Personally, I play with Clevelands, and have Callaway Irons. Neither brand are over rated, both are worldclass.

Nickent have a new range out now called ARC, they could be worth a look.

  2. titlest vokey r considered and imo the best out thr

  3. Titleist Vokey Spin Milled or Cleveland CG12 or 14 have to be the best wedges in the game

  4. I have a 58 and a 54 degree vokey spin milled in the oil can finish (the new ones) and it was 2nd best thing for my golf that I've done (my first was buying a YES! putter.

They are the best wedges that I've had and they spin like CRAZY.

and their not that expensive either ( I'm from Australia and I bought mine for $150 each.

I think they are worth every dollar!

  5. Vokey Spin Milled are very good. They produce massive amounts of spin and can bite on a dime.  The Cleveland CG12 and CG14's are very good as well.  I work at a golf course and I have hit all these clubs.  I personally like the Vokey's, but I currently have Callaway V Forged wedges.  They spin well, but no where near as much as the Vokey Spin Milled.  Before you buy anything, I would recommend demo-ing different wedges before you come to a decision and spend at least $250 on a new wedge set.

  6. Well........When you talk wedges.....there are 2 names that always come up........Cleveland and Vokey.  My personal choice has always been Vokey  ( for what that is worth)   Its really all about you and your choice though......both are good....I just like the "Vokey Feel".
