since plastics, tin cans and other recyclable materials are recycled and the biodegradable garbages are decomposed and can still be used in gardens, then what about those garbages that are disposed and cannot be recycled and decompose.

i need to think of a machine that can solve this problem.

please help me because this is my project and i am still thinking of something new equipment to solve the primary problem not only in the philippines but almost the whole world.

thank you!!

  1. burn it

  2. I'm sorry to say, but almost all consumer goods today can be recycled or composted.  Televisions, light bulbs, shoes, glasses, furniture, concrete, diapers, even this computer, can all be recycled.  All materials can be recycled, however not all are economical to recycle.  Now if you can find something that they currently don't recycle, then you have something.  Then you need to find a way to recycle it.  I'm fascinated by the new products coming out that are being made by recycled material in order to reduce garbage.  Wal-mart (evil corporation) is making reusable cloth bags for groceries, and they are made from recycled plastic bottles (not so evil idea).  Tires are being retreaded or broken down to make rubber mulch, or even rubber gloves and new tires.  Computer parts are being broken down into their constituents to be reused and formed into newer better computer parts.  Even them old cathode ray televisions are being recycled, made into glass panes and light bulbs.  There already are plastics made that you can eat, or bio-degrade in a mater of weeks.  Shoes are being broken down to make rugs and many other things.  So if you can think of it, it can be recycled.  It may not be easy, it may not be cheap, but it can be done.

  3. I don't know about a machine but as far as using less garbage, it is a constant battle that everyone needs to start making a conscious effort to get rid of, buying used items instead of new, growing your own veggies, composting everything that can be composted, reducing the amount of garbage that goes out into the trash doesn't just save space in the landfill, it saves gas, and energy as well, less garbage, less trips with the garbage truck, etc.....stop buying bottles of water,ect..... there is an endless amount of ways to help with garbage  people need to pick and choose their battles, and just make more of an effort. And just because things can be recycled doesn't mean we should keep buying them, reuse products....recycling uses energy too.

  4. RECYCLE!

  5. The answer that you seek is not only a political one but, also a manufacturing one. If every country in the world had a team of scientist to come up with new and better ways of manufacturing things our problem with the junk that we cannot use or get rid of would lessen. For a start I have heard about cell phones eventually being made out of soy bean products that will be biodegradable in our landfills. Using more glass and less plastic will not only be better for our health but, glass can be recycled more easily. Certain plastics has been found to not only be filling up our landfills but, giving us unwanted chemicals, and properties in microwavable plastics that cause cancer. Plastics can be recycled for many uses but, hopefully less in food production. The most powerfull machine that we have to solve the problem that you seek an answe for is the human mind, and the will of the people. What is one mans trash is another mans treasure.

  6. INCINERATOR!

  7. Packaging is a huge problem, try contacting companies that overpackage and send them nasty e-mails. I have done that in the past. Last time was around the holidays, I recieved a box of chocolates. It had four different layers of packaging on it, disgusting really.

  8. The United States lives in a "throw away" society!! We alays have to have the latest and greatest and this aids in the excess problems of garbage!

  9. I have found a website that has many answers to your question and hints for your school project. I am an unhappy old man in the dirty and polluted Hong Kong for the past 70 years. You probably say good words to me after you get your project done.

  10. I know this isn't really an idea for a machine, but I think it could be a good inspiration for one:

I have heard of new types of plastics where the molecules can be separated almost like a zipper.  These chains of molecules can then be reformed into new products.  It's still in the development stage, but it could be on the horizon.

  11. Even before we think of any new equipment to recycle more we need to look at the other two aspects of reducing garbage which we always tend to ignore, which are: Reduce and re-use. The more we reduce the usage of materials such as plastics, paper, etc., the more we are contributing to green living. Similarly the more we re-use the less we consume.

Think about it. In the meantime, I came across this nice website which makes a good effort to make us understand how we can reduce garbage.

Hope it helps in your project.

  12. hmmmm. that is quite hard but i have heard there aresome upcoming inventions that uses garbage as fuel. i'm not just sure if it is quite effective but other scientists are trying to improve those projects. if you are really talking about a machine, that is quite hard. you can get methane from garbages and they use methane as an alternative for fuel. you really don't need a machine just to reduce garbages.

try search for garbages as fuel and you might find some helpful tips. i have no time to give you sites but good luck on your project
