According to what I have read (and now what I do)

1. Drive 60mph on interstate roads (unless an emergency).

2. Coast to red lights and keep out of gear when you can. (Tapping the brake pedal keeps brakes from getting hot and waring out faster.)

3. Turn off engine if it is going to be a long red light.

4. Don't play 'creepee mouse'. Keep your engine out of gear. as keeping in gear puts strain on it and uses more gas.

5. Don't make a fast acceleration when light changes to green

as this uses more gas then a gradual acceleration.

(Creepee mouse is moving a little each time car in front of you moves a little while waiting at a stop light)

  1. Only drive down hill.

  2. 1. when you fill up do so in the morning or when it's cooler out side!  gas expands in hotter weather there for not truely filling your tank up!

    2. keep your gas tank full!  when you have a half tank more air is in there meaning more can evaporate!

    3. air pressure in your tires and your air filter are highly important! if your air pressure isnt' even it puts the car in an off balanced state. there for leaving your engine and gas to work harder.. same thing with the air filter!  if your engine is working to hard it will burn more gas!

    4. some pros and cons with this!  Use your AC not the window!  the window will slow you down making your car work harder then running the AC

    5. you waste gas every time your car is in an idel spot (red light, drive thru, standing anywhere!

    6. drafting does save a little bit of gass but not worth the danger! (stay behind larger trucks and use there air pocket to help you save more!

    7. when pumping the gas use it at the slowest setting.. when you use it at the quickest setting you get more air bubbles Is that what you want to buy? or do you want gas!

takes longer and it sucks!  but i have noticed a difference!

  3. 6. Make sure your tires are inflated properly. The optimum tire pressure in indicated on a sticker on the door frame usually on the driver's side or on the tire itself.

    7. Your engine should be properly tuned-up.

    8. Do not tailgate. Keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. Whenever you see the front vehicle's brake lights light up, release your foot from the gas pedal immediately and just coast along.

    9. The best gas-saving tips: Try carpooling or use the bus instead; or better yet, walk to your destination if it is only less than one kilometer. It's good for the heart too..

  4. here are some suggestions:

    1. drive less. meaning only 3 times a week

    2. take public transportation

    3. invest in a gas scooter. it's worth it because it takes less gas to fill it up. http://www.vespausa.com/

    4. stop reading blogs about gas prices and don't read articles, that just makes you more upset and stressed and worried.

    5. don't drive on weekends. ride the scooter if you need to go to simple places.

    6. maybe invest in a good hybrid car. not right now but hopefully they would improve the battery.

    7. well its pretty much up to you. remember you control what you spend not the gas companies..
