  1. shampoo.

also if you have them completely dry before you put them away, they stay much cleaner.

the blue shampoo works really well for white horses.

  2. bursh & bath

  3. If it's warm enough or you have the facilities for it..a bath.

Other than that lots of time with brushes.

  4. In my barn, we have to shower our horses after every ride. We take the horse outside (we don't have a shower), and spray them all over with water, making sure to scrub with our hands on the sweaty spots to get rid of the sweat. We then wash the legs, knees down, with shampoo, a lot like you would wash our hair. Then we rinse and sweat scrap them with a plastic (not metal, they hurt) sweat scraper.

Sometimes wash the mane and tail as well.

Once in a while make sure you spray their heads, although they will not like it generally.

Washing horses is a good way to check for cuts or bo-bo's.

If you are doing a full bath, wash horse the same way you wash the legs, except use one of those hand/mitt/scruber things, they work better.

    Happy washing!

  5. are you just grooming before a ride?? or going for a bath??

shampoos and conditioners are best (if they are made especially for horses even better)

currying and brushing too.   remember the 2 F's go first.  Face, and Feet

  6. Shampoo, water, and a lot of elbow grease
