  2. Well, eating whole grain oat cereal (Cheerios) is a good way to lower your cholesterol. Also, foods like applesauce (Motts) and raisins (Sun Maid) would help to lower your cholesterol too. In most cases, you have people who have to take medicine because family history contributes to their cholesterol levels. So, foods like these alone do not help. In my case, I take Caduet. So, ask your primary doctor what you should do. At least you know. I hope this works for you.
