There are actually a lot a good legit ways to earn a income from home. Unfortunately there is also a lot of scams and junk so you have to be careful and do your research. I can't explain how important it is to do your research. Make sure you are well informed about a business before making any commitment. What do you want to do or what can you see yourself doing? Just do what most people are doing and find something to sell online. Almost anyone who actually makes enough money online to live off (including me) does it by selling something or offering some kind of service, unless they're working for a company. I run a few online stores just by using drop shipping and store templates. Some drop shippers make your store for you to so you don't have to deal with web design and all that.

Making money online isn't rocket science it's just a lot of work. I work around 5-7 hours a day just like anybody else with a few stores selling jewelry and clothes and make around $4k/month, but it's hard to make more than that because there's not enough hours in the day. I take weekends off though and it feels good when I wake up in the morning but its still stressful sometimes. I know quite a few people that have home based jobs and work online.  So there are some out there.  Question is, what type of online work are you looking into?  What are your qualifications?  How much income do you need to be making, etc?  A lot of details that you've left out that would really help Yahoo Answerers to be able to refer you over to the right places that would be best for you.  I do know of an article that is out that has a couple different companies that have home based jobs for on line work.  I'm refering you here because I do not know what your qualifications are.  If you feel you could qualify for one of these positions then I'd say go ahead and apply for it.
