  1. The ones written by Chris Claremont are the best. He wrote all the classics like The Dark Phoenix Saga (before the movie ruined it), Days of Future Past, the Brood saga, the Mutant Massacre, etc.

    Next would be stories written by Grant Morrison and Joss Whedon.
