What are the biggest reasons that small snowboard companies never suceed, READ BELOW?

I want to start my own snowboard company, but is it very slim to starting a snowboard company and succeeding, what are the reasons

  1. Poor market research, poor promotion, inferior product.

    You're not going to get much valuable research done here.


  2. Alot of the smaller companys are very sucessful and are often more respected that the big corparate brands. The best way for a company to be respected by riders is to be seen to be putting back into snowboarding rather than just after the money. Take a company like Arbor which is a small company but they still make good money and a slice of what they make goes into helping the enviroment.

  3. Small snowboard companies do succeed and become bigger, and bigger.  Now those small successful companies are big(ger)  successful companies.  There are lots of examples: Rome, Ride, Sapient, Prior, Coiler (still fairly small yet successful).  Some were so successful that they were bought up by larger companies: Hammer snowboards was bought out by Rossignol and then sold to another investor. By the way, even Burton started small!  They can succeed with good vision and management.
