  1. they used to be bleachers , now theyre there to hel;p the hitter

  2. they used to be the place where fans sat a long time ago. but now its just there to keep the legend alive, the babe used to hit em out there all the time

  3. its called the hitters backdrop. if there were fans sitting in dead center behind the pitcher it would distract the hitter and cause them not to see the ball. most ever stadiume has one look during a day game at fenway they have one too.

  4. their arent bleachers...they are so the batter wont get confused. if theirs people back their th batter will have troubke seeing the ball.

havent u seen in every MLB ballpark no one sits in straigh away center field.

  5. They have a section in dead center at fenway that is covered in black as well. They sometimes open it, but rarely. It helps the batters pick up the ball better. Tons of bobbling heads can be distracting, especially when some of them might be wearing white caps or shirts.

  6. "The Black" is a section of bleachers in Yankee Stadium that are no longer used.  They were available for seating before the Stadium's renovation in 1976. It's now used as a batter's eye.
