  1. Type O.

  2. Blood group O is considered as universal donors and AB are considered as universal Recepient but this concept no more works because it does not undertake many other aspects

  3. Universal donors are O blood type

Universal receptors are AB blood type

  4. The two most important systems that determine blood transfusion reactions are the ABO system and the Rhesus  systems (the latter being referred to as either 'positive' or 'negative').

Thus, the "universal donors" would be 'O negative' people.

Correspondingly, the "universal receivers" would be 'AB positive' people.

Unfortunately there are hundreds of other antigens on the red cells, so AB positive people, for instance, can still get transfusion reactions.  This is why blood banks do lots of further checks ("crossmatches") on any blood before it is transfused.  The only time you would be happy with giving a patient uncrossmatched O negative blood would be in an emergency, where there is not enough time to do the further tests.

    Hope that helped!

  5. Type O is considered to be the universal donor, since it can be given to anyone in an emergency. Group AB is the universal recipient.
