  1. I never heard about this exam, thanks to Kate and samerdib, and good luck samer.

  2. Just to add: the exams are extremely difficult!!! A grade 12 brevet exam would compare to a University Exam in the West. Not kidding. The kids study night and day for months. It is their future after all. Cheers!

  3. uff ya i thought that this kind of test were just part of the craziness of Turkish but i think every country is getting this kind of test..children become maniacs in answering test...oks kcc brevet what ever...it is good cause of course prove your education level..but your childhood is just passing thought test and test samples and timetables..there is not anymore the time when every one use to do their homework and go outside to play in the park and have fun...even mothers with children in schools have a kind of talk among them about key words like:  did your son take kss exam? my is taking oks but next year will be eks? the other  one is going to extra classes for acc or whatever!!! buaaaaaaaaaa and i will be the same my girl is now 3 years old but as far as i see education system is getting harder and harder.

  4. It's a series of official exams that have tests in math, physics, chemistry, biology, arabic language, french or english language, geography and history that every student has to pass to go from 3eme (9th grade) to the 2nd (10th grade)

  5. the brevet test this year starts next week (on 7th July) and will last till 10th July  ( 4 days)

It's a series of exams that every Lebanese student have to pass when he finishes grade 9 (at school). These exams include

Students have to get an average of 10 / 20 (he can get 15 points)

Students who don't succeed can have a second exam later in the summer

  6. THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL!!

       the destroyer of life

it's just designed to make the life of 14 year olds overly stressed and ruin their summer vacation ...

so that while we, brevet students, are indoor in our windowless tower... studying... melting our brains in the rotting july sun.... kids are down on the streets.. screaming, yelling , and having a blast...

so in brief it's pure torture!

Those who survive brevet can survive anything!

(i handled the emotional part.. as other people took care of the technical one)

    i mean NINE SUBJECTS??

i have brevet next week as well............ * pfff *

  7. Official examinations in the following areas: Math, English, Arabic, chemistry, bio, physics, civics, history, geography. They are common among all 9th graders who want to hold a lebanese certificate & get elevated to grade 10 or else they will either attend a technical school or continue high school (Freshman) with no Lebanese (BAC) which comes at grade 12 (also official examination for those who want to hold a lebanese certificate when they go to college) .....

If you have the Brevet & BAC then u can work at any official governmental Lebanese institution.
