  1. The subway does not go outside of NYC.

    It does not appear that there is any direct public transportation from Flushing to Tappen Beach (in Oyster Bay).

    The closest I can see is take the #7 to Woodside and then get an Oyster Bay bound train to Oyster Bay.  You'll probably have to get a cab to the beach as there doesn't seem to be any indication of local bus service there.

    You can call the beach 516-674-7100 and ask them.
