  1. check out some web sites that might help you conclude your own answer!

Hey and calculate your own or your families carbon footprint (that's the amount of waste that goes into our blue skies from using energy, gas etc)

  2. apparently, the pollution stops the heat from being released from our atmosphere and it causes a green house effect where it is being kept warm from the inside.    "They" say that this is causing the polar ice caps to melt.  I personally think this is a cycle the earth goes through every million years or so.     Scotland once had enough fine weather and heat to grow vineyards!   Essex had a tropical Climate like Malaysia a million years ago.  Not sure I believe this is the first time global warming has happened

  3. A greenhouse at a nursery does not stay warm because of the "greenhouse" effect.  They stay warm because they keep warm air from rising and being replaced by cooler air at ground level.

The atmospheric greenhouse effect is mostly due to water vapor, with unknown contributions from carbon dioxide, methane, etc.

The atmospheric greenhouse effect keeps the earth about 30 Celsius degrees warmer than it would otherwise be without an atmosphere.  By preventing infrared radiation from immediately leaving the earth.  Most light from the sun is in the visible (400-700 nanometer wavelength).  The atmosphere is mostly transparent to visible light.  After entering the atmosphere, the energy is absorbed and re-emitted until it ends up in the infared, where the atmosphere is not so transparent.

Since the incoming energy from the sun must balance the outgoing energy radiated from the earth, the earth has to warm up quite a bit compared to an earth without an atmosphere.

Warming the earth also creates clouds, that reflect sunlight and cool the earth.  It is thought this natural feedback effect, that a hotter earth evaporates more water that creates more clouds that cools the earth, prevents the earth from further heating until the oceans evaporate.

Life on earth likes warm weather, and the greenhouse effect is critical to abundant life.  We are currently in an "ice age", and life was not so pleasant when glaciers covered a good chunk of the land mass.

  4. THEIR IS'NT EFFECTS ON GLOBAL WARMING FROM GREEN HOUSES OR ANYTHING MAN HAS BUILT OR INVENTED. INFORMATION YOU- ALL RECIEVED FROM SOME OF THE RICH  ARE  EXCUSES. IF IT WERE TRUE OUR E.P.A. WOULD HAVE PROVEN IT TO CONGRESS LIKE THEY WERE TOLD TO DO LAST YEAR.

  5. People freaking out over a non-event designed to divert our attention from things that really need to be addressed.
