What are the chances Novak Djokovic will be in Federer`s draw at the US?

Now that Roger is #2 does that mean he`ll meet the 3rd seed in the semis ? In fact because Roger had Novak in his Wimbledon draw and got him at the Aussie and Rafa had Novak at the French so most likely Nadal will have to square off against Novak at the US Open?! Dam i was looking forward to seeing Roger and Novak go head to head :(

  1. The draw will be announced on Thursday. But I'm sure Djokovic and Nadal will be on opposite sides this time.

  2. its a 50/50 chance that they will be in each others draw... but usually the number 2 nad 3 do not meet each other unless its the semifinal round... or if its to meet in the final if they are on the other side of the draw...

    it can go both ways...

  3. No, the only thing about the seedings is that number one cannot meet number two before the finals. Essentially nothing has changed since Federer and Nadal switched spots. There is an equally likely chance that Federer has Djokovic in his side of the draw or Nadal does. So basically the chance that Nadal gets Djokovic is a coin flip, or 50-50.

Ok I see what you're saying. Nadal played Djokovic in the semis at Roland Garros, Indian Wells, Hamburg, and Cincinnati. Federer did at the Aussie Open, Wimby (Djokovic lost early though), and Monte Carlo. So four times for Nadal and two times for Federer. Just the luck of the draw, I think.

EDIT: Well it ended up happening like you hoped. But honestly I don't think Federer will get that far. He has potentially Stepanek in the third round (who beat him in straight set tiebreaks earlier this year), Verdasco or Andreev in the fourth (not too much trouble), and Gasquet or Davydenko in the quarters (potentially lots of trouble).

For your man Nadal, I don't see any trouble until maybe the 4th round, where he'll meet Berdych, a solid all-round player, or Karlovic, the big-serving walking nightmare. The quarters could be even tougher: he could meet Blake, Nalbandian, or even Monfils. All very dangerous players to Nadal, especially Nalbandian, who beat Nadal twice last year in Paris and Madrid (their only meetings). I don't see anyone other than Ferrer or Murray for Nadal in the semis. Somewhat of a tough draw, but really no one's draw is that easy.

  4. 50/50

I don't believe Rafa will get an easier path to the final - in theroy its equal.

Which as you know I think is rubbish but hey, we can't do anything about it.

  5. its very good chance of happening

  6. I believe they draw for the two corners, with #1 and #2 always in the same place, so they draw for the other two corners between #3 and #4 then I think they draw for the bottom of each corner I believe #5, #6, #7 and #9, but Im not absolutely sure..... Its a 50/50 chance Federer will meet Djoko!

Rafa's draw WILL become easier, you'll see.

  7. It had better be that Djoko is on Fed's side - it seems that Djoko has been on Rafa's side almost every time which I cannot understand!  It should have been #1 and #3 on one side and #2 and #4 on the other. But that hasn't happened - it's always Rafa and Djoko. Let's see if it's different this time - otherwise I'm thinking conspiracy................  ; )

  8. I sure hope they aren't on the same side but if they are it should be no surprise. I would also like to see Federer and Nole face off.
