What are the chances he'll show his friends my letter?

I sent my best friend a letter because we haven't spoken to each other in a very long time. Basically, he is mad at me and refuses to talk to me. Well yesterday was the first time I saw him in a really long time, and basically, there was a lot of tension that we couldn't talk to each other. His friends told me that my best friend now carries a grudge against me and is "pissed" at me. I was really beaten up and wrote my friend a letter telling him how I missed him, that I am really hurt that we haven't talked in a while, and I want to amend our friendship. However, now I am worried. What are the chances he'll show his friends the letter?

  1. well, you never said why he was pissed at you. i guess it depends on what was said or done. if it was drastic, then maybe he'll show it to others. and if he does then he really wasn't your friend at all. no matter what, real friends don't stab you in the back.

  2. You tried to communicate and your friend just wants to be asinine about it.

If that's the way he feels, then maybe it's time to leave it as it is and find another friend.

The only reason I can think of why he would act that way towards you is that you denied him of something.

Whether it was a mutual feeling he was hoping that you'd share, or jealousy about something only you and he would know about.

  3. The least of your worry is him showing his friends the letter.

And what exactly could be so bad if he does? You said you told him how sorry you were--and that was that. It's not like you wrote to him to tell him you wanted to sleep with him (right?)

They might even encourage him to make up with you.

In any case, you made your peace--now let it be. If he wants to get in touch with you, allow him to do so when he wants to.
