What are the chances i get a charge off disputed?

i have a charge off from 5 years ago i need to get dispute (hopefully) b/c i am trying to get into the Air Force and need it off there for me to get in. Well they havent bothered me for about 4 years now. I already sent in a dispute file for all 3, i have gotten a response from Experian saying that Aug. 7th the investigation will end. I havent heard anything from the other 2..

Your chances are slim to none.  Accounts charged off will remain on your credit report even if you dispute them.  In order for an item to be removed by dispute it must be un verifiable.  Charge offs are not that type of debt.  It will no doubt remain because it is verifiable by the creditor, so the credit reporting agencies will inform you that the debt has been verified and will remain on your report until a specified date.

Possible but it depends on the original creditor. You may have also just poked the sleeping giant and may begin to get hounded by creditors.

Question- does the Air Force require it be deleted or just have a 0 Balance?
