  1. Guaranteed if he wins, or if he reaches the final and Rafa doesn't.  Only 360 points separate them.  Rafa must win the title to defend his own points from last year, anything less than the title will take away points.  Djokovic on the other hand only has a seminfinal to defend, so if he improves on the semis this year he will gain substantially.

  2. he has a very good chance.. nadal would be lucky to keep it.. remember how close their match was in Hamburg? nadal must fight to WIN the whole tournament in order  not to lose its points (a lot) if he loses at any round and djokovic keeps going he will take over.. if they meet in the semis nadal needs to win him then win federer at the final,otherwise.. nadal will lose # 2

after Hamburg Rafa said in his interview that he wasn't preocupied about the #2 thing.. he said he'd lose it anyway in the next two weeks!!! even rafa is not that optimistic about it.

  3. Well in the last tournament if Joko would have beat NADAL he would have gotten the #2 ranking but i think that if he wins the FRENCH OPEN he will get up to a #2 ranking.

  4. no chance. not at all. if he can't win over fed at RG, beating nadal who is at #2 is impossible. hope that clears everything. djokovic must come to paris with that thing in mind

  5. he has a pretty good chance after french open, like at wimbledon and the hard court season. nadal has never been too  good at the U.S. Open, and he didn't win a tournament after wimbledon last year. and he has a lot to live up to at wimbledon, because he has to get to the finals. i think he should maintain that #2 spot for a while, and eventually he will be #1. But being a djokovic fan, im rooting for him all the way

    GO NOVAK!

  6. If Nole makes it to the finals (for which he must get past Rafa in the semi's) then he'll be #2 since say if Rafa loses in the semi's (hope not) then he'll lose 550 points, while Nole will gain atleast 250 points for making it to the finals and 550 if he wins French Open.

Since 360 points separate them now, Rafa would lose 550 points and Nole will gain 250 or 550 points which would mean Nole will take over the #2 ranking.

  7. a bleak chance. he'll face nadal in the semis.

  8. when rafa loses in earlier rounds... and djokovic reached the SF or even the finals..

  9. As long as Nadal gets #1, his chances are good.

  10. If Djokovic wins and Nadal loses, he gains points and Nadal loses points so he's move up.....not necessarily number 2 depending on the points he earns.  Remember that Djokovic is on the same tough half with Nadal.  He made semifinals last year so if he loses any time before the semis, he will lose points.  Nadal won last year so even if he makes it to the final but lose, he'll lose points too.  Nadal needs to win to protect his points.  Nadal and Djokovic, if they both make it are heading to a semifinal showdown with Nadal wanting to preserve his points and Djokovic wanting to avenge his loss in Hamburg.  Djokovic is a good player on all surfaces, but they don't call Nadal the king of clay for nothing.  He will be ready for him unless he loses before they meet.  Federer does have an easy top half but there are so many up and coming stars on his half too.  Federer lost in the finals to Nadal last year so if he loses before the finals, he will lose some points too.

  11. Not good. He won't catch up to Nadal while they're on clay. If Nadal becomes #1 then there's a good chance

  12. 3/10

  13. Well it depends on how well he plays. Let's hope for the best.

  14. I honestly don't think he has much of a chance because he had a chance to set the stage for how he could do at the French last week and he lost big time against Rafa. But anything can happen in tennis and honestly the only way he can take over number 2 is if Rafa loses in a certain round because he has to defend his 1000 points from last year. I honestly think his chances are a little slim, we'll just have to see.

  15. yeah, gerard e is right as long as nole plays well. But i really hope rafa will win cause if he doesn't get to defend his title, the chances of nole becoming the number 2 seed would get bigger. And unfortunately, i'm not a novak fan... Sorry...

  16. Wimbldon, US open, and Australia open can bring him up.

  17. minimal bcause even though he has the australian title, rafa has always been a defending title holder of the french open and roger own the other two and rafa still has his many title history which outshines novak by far

  18. Aries at the start of the French Nole will already be showing up as #2 since everyone drops their French points from last year. It will be short lived however since Rafa will make the Final against Fed and has the best shot of beating Roger.
