What are the chances of Mirador Women’s Volleyball Club at the 2010 Club World Championship?
Mirador is Dominican’s top Women’s club, and they are scheduled to take part in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship in Doha, Qatar. The championship will kick off next week on December 15th and will complete its run in seven days. It's high time for
club teams to get ready for action. Mirador is one of the contestants of the Club World Championship, and they have the ambition to steal the show with their outstanding performance.
The club has the support of experienced head coach, Marcos Kwiek. The head coach is confident about the form of his team. He is of the opinion that Mirdor will outshine in the Club World Championship. Mirdor’s team has been grouped in Pool B, which looks
weaker at this time. The team will open the tournament by taking on Kenya Prisons. It will be an important match for Mirador as the Kenya Prisons have many terrific players in the squad. Most of them demonstrated their skills at the FIVB Women’s World Championship
and are exceptionally good.
Mirador will be in a strong position, if they manage to dismantle Kenya Prisons’ strength in the opening match. It will be a stepping stone for Dominicans to catch a slot in the second round of the Club World Championship. The coach, Kwiek is putting all
his efforts in order to prepare the team for this crucial match. Most Dominican Republic’s players have played together in the National team. So it wouldn’t be hard for them to make the right combinations and to develop good chemistry. Veteran Milagros Cabral,
Bethania de la Cruz, Cindy Rondon, Candida Arias, Annerys Vargas, Brenda Castillo and Karla Echenique are included in Dominican Republic’s team.
Kwiek has a lot of faith in his players. Talking about his players’ abilities, he said, "Bethania is coming along pretty well and she must be a key factor for us. She was out of action for more than a year due to maternity but now is nearing her top shape
and Cindy is moving to opposite after many years as a middle blocker. Castillo and Arias both are part of the junior national team as too are Ana Yorkira Binet, Marisol Concepcion and Yennifer Ramirez, so the competition will be useful for all of them."
Afterwards, Mirador is scheduled to go up against Italian club Bergamo on the second day of the tournament. The Italian club Bergamo will be playing without a key player, Eleonora Lo Bianco, who was the captain of the team. Lo Bianco played as setter of
Italian team and her absence will surely benefit Mirador in a great way. Mirador’s team has fair chances of rising up with good stats in the Club World Championship.
